Variant
Airbus A330-200
The A330-200 is the shorter-fuselage, longer-range member of the original A330 family. It was created to serve long routes with less capacity than the A330-300 and became popular with airlines needing range without the seat count of a larger wide-body.
Overview
The A330-200 is the shorter-fuselage, longer-range member of the original A330 family. It was created to serve long routes with less capacity than the A330-300 and became popular with airlines needing range without the seat count of a larger wide-body.
Advantages
- Good long-haul range for thinner international routes.
- Works well where an airline needs wide-body cargo and passenger capability without very high seat capacity.
Limitations
- Lower seat count can make unit cost less attractive on dense trunk routes.
- Older examples can be less fuel efficient than newer-generation twin wide-bodies.

Technical notes
Technical notes
- Uses a shorter fuselage than the A330-300 and a larger tailfin compared with early -300 design assumptions.
- Typical engine options include Trent 700, CF6-80E1, and PW4000 variants.
- Its shorter body improves range but reduces cabin volume and seat capacity compared with the -300.
